We’re so pleased to introduce you all to Cora, our amazing new UW MSW Intern!!
“Originally from Colorado, Cora was raised in an environment valuing mind, body, spirit connection and holistic healing. Her social work journey began in London where she spent a year volunteering with underserved youth and participating in an interfaith community development program advocating for safer streets and housing rights. Cora fell in love with creative, collaborative community development work and returned to the states to study social work. She provided case management services in community mental health programs in Los Angeles and San Diego; working with survivors of domestic violence and individuals experiencing homelessness, severe mental illness, substance use, and repeat interactions with the criminal justice system. Cora turned to yoga as a practice of self-care, finding space for her own healing and working through trauma. She completed her first 200 hr YTT in February 2018. This work inspired her desire to pursue macro social work with an emphasis in community development and integration of holistic health practices. She is excited to join the YBB Team this year to learn, grow, and further integrate her yoga and social justice work practice.”
