About Us
We believe healing is for everybody.
Who We Are
Since 2008, we have shared trauma-informed yoga and meditation with our community behind and beyond bars to support individual healing and a more just society for all.
We envision a world that prioritizes healing and growth over punishment, so we can learn to be in community with each other to stop cycles of trauma, violence, and harm.
Our Values
LIBERATION
We provide somatic practices for our community to experience freedom in their bodies and minds that cannot be taken from them by anyone, including the state.
HUMANITY
We are committed to honoring each other’s humanity, even during times of conflict and uncertainty.
LOVE
We embrace a love ethic by utilizing the multiple dimensions of love – care, commitment, trust, responsibility, and knowledge (from All About Love by bell hooks).
COMMUNITY
We take responsibility for our own physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs so that we can practice community care.
GROWTH
We embody a growth mindset through a culture of learning.
SYSTEM DISRUPTION
We recognize the harmful, exploitative, and intergenerational effects of oppressive systems. We question and explore our role within these systems, and work to elevate the voices of our incarcerated and liberated community members.
JOY
We embrace joy, play, and pleasure whenever possible.
